OUR MISSION
To inspire young males and females to achieve new academic heights and build leadership skills while promoting personal success, growth, and discipline through exposure to career and educational opportunities guided by mentors and role models.
KNOWLEDGE
Participants in Go to High School, Go to College receive assistance in goal setting, career guidance/counseling, and mentorship/tutoring.
ATTITUDE
We recognize that we must do much more than share "facts" with youth in order to motivate them to achieve. Go to High School, Go to College seeks to enable young men, so that they might apply their new found knowledge in exploring their own "value systems."
SKILLS
Our youth must be equipped with skills that will allow them to be successful as they strive toward the future. Areas emphasized, include study skills/learning strategies, time management, and group process skills.
ABOUT
Go to High School, Go to College is a National Program of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated which energizes the need for group discussions on being successful and the challenges of attending college. During our sessions, we will focus on the transition from high school to college, the college application process, the college admissions process, the FAFSA process, scholarship opportunities, ACT/SAT information, and more. There will also be a chance for the young men and women to ask questions to presenters, whom have graduated from college and are successful in their careers.
